The Dedicated Blogger Award 2016

Dedicated Blogger Award
The Dedicated Blogger Award 2016 from Blackbutterfly7

My friend, Blackbutterfly7, has nominated “Good Time Stories” for the Dedicated Blogger Award 2016. In creating and nominating the award, she wrote:

“Blogging, some say, is losing ground on the Internet. Many people are now using Twitter or Snapchat or Instagram to convey their thoughts, leaving the more ‘old-fashioned’ blog behind.

But there are those who understand that, sometimes, a long form is best. Who know that it takes time, and craft, and WORDS as well as images to convey a thought, and to start a conversation.

This Award is dedicated to those bloggers who consistently provide wisdom, inspiration, kindness, gentleness and truth to the world through their blogs.

This is a my “thank you” to you. Please, pass it on!”

There are no rules, but I suggest that the award be posted on the blog. If the theme does not have borders for posting the award, then consider a page (not post) for awards and putting it on the menu of your blog.

Here’s a hearty thank you and heartfelt appreciation to Blackbutterfly for this award. It also gives me great pleasure to pay this forward to other bloggers who provide wisdom, inspiration, kindness, gentleness and truth to the world through their blogs.

As always, I’m afraid of leaving someone out who deserves the award, but have decided on the following blogs below.  Some of the bloggers have jobs, or have had things happen in their life, but they continue to blog, giving us all inspiration.  Some blog about their personal experiences and struggles and overcoming.  Their writings cause me to feel that they are like family.

This is not to say that there are not other bloggers who I enjoy, but they have already been nominated by other recipients.  That’s the great thing about our Word Press family.

 ~~IN HER OWN WORDS~~

I have designed this award because so many feel they can’t change the world. They can. You can. Your words, your blog can educate, raise awareness, change opinions and raise spirits. Through your blog you are reaching people you may never have effected any other way.

So this is for all who click away on the computer with a heart full of love, kindness, compassion and caring. For all of you who write to correct wrongs and injustices. For all of you who work to bring light into our world and hope to people’s lives. You are all heroes in my book.

Please accept this heart-felt award and pass it on to those in your WordPress family who deserve it. Let’s keep it going for the entire year. May it inspire all with light, words, and love for the human family.

You all know how much I hate rules, so please just

*post the award on your blog*

*thank the person who gave it to you*

*pass it on to those whom you deem worthy*

*let your nominees know*

THERE ARE REALLY NO RULES

JUST REMEMBER: OUR WORDS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD

——————–

I’m fully aware that some of you do not accept awards and that is fine. I just want to recognize that, from my vantage point, the work that you do is beyond compare and truly makes a difference in our world. Your work also motivates me to continue trying from my little corner in cyberspace.

Good Times Stories” has been nominated for the “Wonderful Team Readership Award” by my friend, Dr. Rex. I strongly recommend that you visit her site, “It Is What It Is”. I am sure that you will like what you read!

I would like to send out a special thank you to Dr. Rex for her thoughtfulness and kindheartedness for nominating me for this award. I am sincerely grateful and honored to be chosen as a recipient of this award.

What is a Team?

A team comprises a group of people linked in a common purpose. Teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent sub-tasks.

Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize his/her strengths and minimize his/her weaknesses. Team members learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond their limitations.

A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members.

It is now my privilege to announce my nominations for this awesome award. Before I do, please allow me to show you the rules for this award.

1) The nominee of the “Wonderful Team Readership Award” shall display the logo on their blog.

2) The nominee shall nominate 14 other bloggers they appreciate over a period of 7 days, all at once, or little by little, linking to their blogs and telling them about it at their blogs.

So, without further ado, here is my list of nominations for the “Wonderful Team Readership Award.”

The Days of Yesteryear #1

The Cincinnati Library
The Cincinnati Library

This was the Cincinnati just before it was demolished in 1955. It is amazing to me to see the immense number of books and the size of the man. The thing that is even more amazing is when you think how we can store so much memory into little computer chips. For example, you could probably save the stories from all of these books on a couple of computer chips in today’s world compared to back in the “old days” when nothing remotely like our modern day computers existed!

The Peace and Justice Award

The Peace and Justice Award
The Peace and Justice Award

I want to take this time to thank my buddy and fellow coach, Shaun @http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com for nominating me for “The Peace and Justice Award.”  It is my honor and pride to accept this nomination from such a terrific fellow blogger and coach. Shaub is a good man and I would like to encourage everyone to visit his blog page…I am sure that you will really enjoy it!

According to the founder of this award, Idealistic Rebel @ http://idealisticrebel.wordpress.com/ she explains the award in her own words:

“I am creating this award to honor WordPress bloggers who support Peace and Justice throughout the world and who are against Racism, Bigotry, Anger and Hatred. The Superstar Blogger Award

The Superstar Blogger Award
The Superstar Blogger Award

I am very humbled and honored to accept the “Superstar Blogger Award” from my dear friend at “The Always Believer” She has a tremendous page that I would strongly encourage everyone to visit. It is filled with very stories, news, quotes, pictures and other goodies that will uplift your spirits and enlighten you every day!!

I am always amazed by how many times I am nominated for awards. When I first started this blog last spring, I never imagined that I would ever receive even one award. While receiving awards are nice, my main focus each time I post something is to try to find things that will inspire, motivate or warm someone’s heart and make their life just a little bit sweeter.

The rules are almost the same with the other awards. Just answer her set of questions and that’s it!

  1. What is the funniest thing about you? – I have an uncanny ability to say things that mean one thing when I actually mean something else. Sort of like Yogi Berra. My buddies at work made a FaceBook page with all of them. It’s called “Dick Muller”. Need some laughs? Check it out…THEN you’ll understand what I mean!
  2. Who is your favorite personality? – Since I am a coach, my favorite all-time coach is Bobby Knight. He was a total jerk but demanded that his players gave him 110% on the basketball court. He was well respected and a master at his trade. My favorite personality as an athlete is Lou Gehrig and my favorite personality in my everyday life is Curly…from the Three Stooges….simply one of the funniest guys ever!
  3. What is your lucky thing? – I really don’t have anything that I consider my “lucky thing” but if I had to chose one thing…it would probably be wrist bands when I play softball.
  4. What is your favorite weather? – Storms. I grew up on the beach and I used to love watching storms come in from the ocean. Watching the sea and waves get rough then scanning the sand after storms for “hidden treasure” are experiences that I will NEVER forget!
  5. A name that you want to give me. – Friend!

It’s now time for my nominations for this award. I could easily go on and post a fe pages of wonderful blog pages that I think tat you would enjoy…unfortunately, I can’t list them all…so here are a few of my favorite. Please take some time to visit them…it will be well worth your time!!

The Shauny Award

shaun-y-awardI would like to take this time to recognize and thank my friend Eric, host of his blog, Hunt FOR Truth on WordPress, for nominating me for the “Shauny Award.”  Eric has a lot of great stories on his blog and I am sure that you will enjoy the time that you spend visiting his site.

The idea behind the award is to commit to showing humility and love toward all others, and to enhance these virtues in ourselves and others. It is also to encourage ten other blogs by co-nominating them because they show such traits as well. Key points then, as stated by another recipient of the award, are to:

  • Show humanity and humility
  • Show love
  • Be yourself
  • Don’t be others
  • Don’t gossip
  • Share the award with 10 others
  • Link back to the person who nominated you for this award
